Roscoe and the Kids

Rosco and the Kid

Rosco and the Kid

In case you missed it, there’s a new monster in town. While Chuck and Succotash have been looking to capture their first Leprechaun (not without a little help from Oliver) they captured a big, green, furry ball of fun named Roscoe. Now, Roscoe is used to hanging around kids, since he has his own comic strip Roscoe and the Kid buy my buddy cartoonist Dave Sullivan. Sully’s Roscoe monster fit’s so well with Chuck and the gang, that he was complete natural to write and draw. I’d been looking to have him make a cameo for a LONG time, but wanted to make sure that it was the right time, and this Saint Patrick’s Day was that moment.

And for those of you Peanizles fans that think Roscoe, and Dave’s drawing look familiar, they should! Sully has contributed his own take on
Grace and Chuck back in 2013 when I broke my arm and was incapable of drawing for weeks. Those were some very dark days indeed. And he was also amazing enough to draw a fantastic Portait of the Artist–mischievous muse included.

AND, his son Bryan drew a spectacuarly fun-filled drawing of
Bryan SullivanOliver, which quickly made Chuck’s day.

Fan Art Friday – Lyonarda

FanArt-Lyonarda

Well, 2018 has been a busy year for Don, Chuck, Oliver and the whole Peanizles gang, and 2019 is shaping up to be even bigger, and even more exciting! Keep your eyes peeled for all the cool announcements as we’re able to disclose them.

Today, we have a great piece of fan art that was submitted by 12 year old Lyonarda of Lawrence, Massachusetts. Lyonarda created Chuck’s sister (if he had one, that is) and she is almost identical to Chuck. Although the lashes would probably make Grace green with envy.

Great job Lyonarda! Thanks so much, and keep the great work coming.

I won’t lie, we’re up against some serious competition in the Best Comic Strip category: Bloom County, Pearls Before Swine, Mutts, and Sarah Scribbles. All such great, great comics, and cartoonists. I’m humbled to be on the same ballot with them. Now, it’s time to get as many people out there to vote, and convince them to vote for Peanizles. Chuck and the gang would greatly appreciate it.

Fan Art Friday – Like Father Like Son

A few weeks back, I posted a picture of Oliver by Bryan S., Of Dracut, Massachusetts. And the drawing skills and cartooning chops that we witnessed in Bryan’s fantastic drawing, are a direct result of his Dad, David S, who sent in this stupendous drawing of me and Chuck. Thanks so much guys!

Beverly Comic Con 5 – 2018 Edition

This Saturday, April 14th, is the fifth Beverly Comic Con, in Beverly, Massachusetts.

The show is one of my very favorite conventions, and I look forward to it every year (and that’s not because it always seems to land near my birthday). This year, besides my regular comic collections and fun t-shirts, I’ll have the new line of Penaizles hats, which have Oliver featured on a green hat, with white mesh, as well as a flat brmmed, all black snap-back with a grinning Oliver embroidered prominently on the front. I also have mt Cat On The Hat, faturing Grace’s familiar orange cat from her ti-shirt. And the first Peanizles children’s book, “The Day the World Lost It’s Color” will be available.

And if all that wasn’t enough, I’ll be debuting the new prototyes for the first Peanziles plushies, of Oliver and his pet, Dusty, the dust bunny. They look absolutely fantastic, and are super soft and cuddly.

Besides all that I’ll be surrounded by a huge array of diverse comic creators and artists and writers! There’s a a coffee bar, a full bar for the over 21 kids, and a dj. Phew. It’s a blast. And the best part is that it’s free!

So swing by and say Hi
